Bessie Carter has split from her Bridgerton co-star, Sam Phillips.
It’s believed the couple met while filming the third season of the hit Netflix show, and later moved in together. Bessie, 32, plays Prudence Featherington, while Sam, 31.
Now, it’s all off between the Bridgerton actors, with Bessie insisting that she’s ‘never been happier’.
The 32-year-old, who is the nepo baby daughter of Jim Carter and Imelda Staunton, also vowed ‘to stop dating red flags’ as she gets back out there.
‘I am single, and I have never been happier,’ Bessie said. ‘I love waking up alone, being able to stretch out, make a cacao, pad around my beautiful flat, and choose what I want to put into this day that I am lucky to get to enjoy.
‘I wanted to come back to myself. To go to therapy, to become really f***ing good at my job, to stop dating red flags.’
Bessie and Sam were first pictured together in May 2023, and later, that November, they participated in the premiere of Wonka with Bessie’s famous mum, Imelda.
Speaking previously to PEOPLE in July 2025, Bessie revealed the most important quality she looks for in a partner.
‘I mean, if you’ve got a crackin’ sense of humor, you’re gonna be fine,’ the Bridgerton star said, adding of her famous parents: ‘They got a crackin’ sense of humor.
‘Humor is one of the most important things to me in any kind of relationship, so, yeah, if you can crack a joke, you’ll be absolutely fine.’
