EXCLUSIVE: Dateline‘s Keith Morrison is tackling the case of Omaha woman Cari Farver in the new podcast “Something About Cari,” to premiere on Tuesday, December 2. The six-episode series will drop the first two episodes on premiere, with new episodes to come on Tuesdays and Thursdays through December 18 via your favorite podcast provider.
“Something About Cari” takes listeners to America’s heartland, where Farver vanishes just weeks into a new romance in 2012. What follows is a series of strange and terrifying events, including taunting texts and threatening emails to Cari’s boyfriend and his ex that escalate to stalking, arson, murder, and a mind-bending twist no one saw coming.
“As we followed the story of missing midwestern mom Cari Farver, it became clear this was no ordinary case. What began as a brief relationship soon turned into a nightmare, and a chain of events so unexpected that it challenged every assumption about what had really happened,” Morrison teased as to what fans can expect from the new podcast.
The case was previously spotlighted on the Dateline episode titled “Scorned,” which aired in 2018. New episodes of the hit NBC series are currently in its 34th season, with new entries available on Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
“Something About Cari” joins Dateline’s chart-topping podcast portfolio. Dateline’s Showcast ranked #5 on Apple’s Top Shows of the Year, while “Deadly Mirage” and “Murder in the Moonlight” both landed in the Top 5 for Apple’s Top New Shows. Additionally, “Deadly Mirage,” Dateline Originals, and “Murder in the Moonlight” all placed within the Top 6 for Top Series. Morrison was also featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s first-ever Podcast Roundtable, joining leading voices in the podcasting industry.
