The end of the 2025-2026 NBC broadcast season is nigh as May formally closes out the seasons of several fan-favorite shows like Saturday Night Live, The Hunting Party, the One Chicago franchise, and both Law & Order series.
While parting is always such sweet sorrow, NBC promises big thrills, major character moments, and maybe even a cliffhanger or two to bring these season finales home in a dramatic way. Read on to find out when every finale is airing on NBC in May 2026, below.
Thursday, May 7: The Hunting Party Season 2 finale
After another season of tense manhunts, The Hunting Party’s Season 2 finale escapee is convict “Xander Wax” who has a “knack for poisoning through unpredictable methods.” Meanwhile, Agent Bex Henderson (Melissa Roxburgh), Agent Jacob Hassani (Patrick Sabongui), and Shane Florence (Josh McKenzie) will be feeling the heat at the Command Center as several issues come to a head.
The Hunting Party Season 2 finale airs at 10/9c on Thursday, May 7 on NBC, and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
Wednesday, May 13: One Chicago season finales
Chicago Med Season 11 finale
This Chicago Med season closes out as Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) faces one of the most challenging deliveries of her career. Meanwhile, Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) navigates demanding times in the ominously titled episode, “Heaven Help Us.”

Chicago Fire Season 14 finale
Firehouse 51 closes out this season with the episode “Thank You” where Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) welcome a surprise visitor. Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Cindy (Robyn Coffin) renew their vows. And Mouch (Christian Stolte) receives some encouraging news.

Chicago P.D. Season 13 finale
District 21 of the Chicago Police Department closes out this year’s cases with the episode “Born or Made.” Per the synopsis, “When a key witness refuses to cooperate, the Intelligence Unit is forced to rethink their strategy to locate a fleeing suspect. Officer Eva Imani (Ari Mandi) must confront her past before it’s too late.”

Thursday, May 14: Law & Order and SVU finales
Law & Order Season 25 finale
The last episode of Season 25 is titled “Liberty,” and features ER star Anthony Edwards in a guest role as a judge who crosses paths with Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) and Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi). As the logline teases, “The murder of a military hero draws the FBI into Brady’s investigation. As political pressure rises during Baxter’s re‑election campaign, Price and Maroun worry that a series of unusual courtroom rulings mean the judge is in the defendant’s pocket.”
Law & Order’s Season 25 finale airs at 8/7c on Thursday, May 14 on NBC, streaming the next day on Peacock.
Law & Order: SVU Season 27 finale
In the last episode of the season, “Monster,” will we finally get the full history of Chief of Detectives Kathryn Tynan (Noma Dumezweni)? The finale synopsis teases, “A procedural mistake made during the rescue of a kidnapped boy causes the case to collapse in court. As Griffin gets closer to the truth about Tynan, he finds himself in grave danger.”
SVU’s Season 27 finale airs at 9/8c on Thursday, May 14 on NBC, streaming the next day on Peacock.
Saturday, May 16: Saturday Night Live Season 51 finale
The 51st Saturday Night Live season ends May 16 on an epic note as a comedy legend and a music legend converge at Studio 8H: Will Ferrell and Paul McCartney!
An SNL cast member from Season 21 to Season 27, Ferrell is a comedy icon back hosting the show for his sixth time. McCartney made his first appearance as an SNL Musical Guest in Season 5 with his wife Linda McCartney where they sang their hit, “Coming Up.” The finale episode will be the former Beatles member’s fifth time as an official musical guest on the show.
The SNL Season 51 finale airs at 11:30/10:30c on Saturday, May 16 on NBC, and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
