High Potential Stuns TV World by Surpassing ER—A 25-Year Record Finally Broken md18

High Potential

High potential, that’s what the Kaitlin Olson-starring series has within itself. The comedy drama just hit big, being a broadcast primetime, as per reports. Latest updates even suggest that no other series was able to achieve a goal, which High Potential did recently, since the millennials.

For those unversed, the series revolves around Morgan, a single mom played by Olson. She celebrates her life with her three kids and her exceptional skills to solve crimes. Morgan is a true detective with a natural instinct for connecting clues, and that is how she found a spot in the police department while working as a cleaner.

High Potential Broke George Clooney’s ER Record

A report by Variety suggests that High Potential was recently ranked as the No. 1 broadcast entertainment series in total viewers, breaking a record that ER had set. This was following the live+7 day viewing measure, which was detailed by ABC.

Per the outlet, Season 2 of the hit drama is currently serving as the fall’s No. 1 entertainment series in broadcast primetime. The ABC research shows that this is the first time a 10 p.m. drama has topped such a ranking since 1999-2000. In case you don’t know, these were rankings achieved by ER, a medical drama that aired on NBC and starred Hollywood A-Lister George Clooney.

Coming back to High Potential, the comedy-drama hit the mark, airing only a third of its second season. Now, as High Potential is about to wrap up its first half of Season 2, moving to a fall finale, the Amirah J starrer is displaying some immense growth.

High Potential Season 2 Broke George Clooney's Untouchable TV Record After 25 Years

It was Season 2, episode 4, Behind the Music, which received the highest total viewership, around 12.5 million. Interestingly, it was the linear rating (8.09 million viewers, 0.71 rating with adults 18-49) that helped Behind the Music become the number 1 show. Not only that, but the episode even reached a season high, as per the traditional Nielsen measurement.

Compared with last fall’s viewership, the series’ rating has grown by around 29%, per Variety. This is also being deemed as the highest year-to-year improvement of any broadcast drama this season. The outlet event suggests that the series has achieved this ranking following a multiplatform ratings calculator from ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and several other digital platforms.

Joining Olson are Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, and Matthew Lamb, who play a crucial role in High Potential. The series is based on a French series called Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI).

How Will High Potential Fall Finale Shape Up?

Fall finales usually leave us on a cliffhanger, before it enters the reruns for a while. The official synopsis of High Potential Season 2, fall finale reads (via Rotten Tomatoes),

“When a priceless painting is stolen in a museum heist, Morgan and Karadec team up with an art-recovery expert to unravel a tangled case and fierce ownership battle; Soto is determined to uncover the secrets hidden inside Roman’s backpack.”

What mystery will keep us holding until the other half of the series airs? Would it be Morgan trapped somewhere, or her looking at a great discovery, with her eyes wide open? Only time will tell.

High Potential is created by Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles, along with the showrunner Todd Harthan. It’s the lead actress, and Marc Halsey, who serves as the executive producer of the show.
