Bridgerton’s Ruby Barker was treated in hospital this week after a bouldering accident.
Barker, who played Marina Thompson in Netflix’s Regency-era series, posted a video on Instagram yesterday (April 4) that captured a fall.
“You ok? This is what happened,” she captioned it.
Later on, Barker shared two more social media uploads documenting her time on the mend. She wrote beside one set of photos: “Love Gas & Air [laughing emoji] apparently I didn’t want to give it back but have no memory of that lol.”

Barker confirmed in the comments on her video that unfortunately, she broke her arm in the fall. She also thanked “D&M” at the climbing facility for helping her out after the accident in another post, writing: “we love first aiders”.
Bouldering differs from other types of indoor rock climbing in that neither ropes or harnesses are used, with only padded crash mats on hand to break potential falls.
It’s generally performed on walls of a lower height, and will be part of the competition climbing event again at the Olympics later this year.
Barker spoke exclusively to Digital Spy late last year during promotion for Breaking Through with Zeze Millz. In our conversation, the star explained why she “probably” won’t be returning to the world of Bridgerton after two seasons.
“I wouldn’t return to Bridgerton because A) it wouldn’t be my choice, and B) when I did Bridgerton – obviously this is very much in the public knowledge and stuff like that – I had a mental health crisis,” she explained.
“So whilst I was having the most amazing and most important experience in my professional life, my health was deteriorating so, so much, so, so quickly.”

She continued: “It wasn’t just a manageable bout of – I don’t know – depression or anxiety or anything like that. I was seriously, seriously unwell, and I could not cope. And, you know, that’s why I wouldn’t return to Bridgerton.
“In addition to that, Marina, my character on that show, really struggles with her mental health. That’s her story arc.”
Bridgerton seasons 1-2 are streaming now on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Season 3 premieres in two parts, on May 16 and June 13.
