Fit for a kitchen king! Gordon Ramsay checks out lavish properties with wife Tana as they house hunt in Malibu

He’s one of the most celebrated chefs on the planet, so when it comes to buying a house he expects to find one that can cater to his every need.

Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana were in for a real treat as an estate agent took them out and about to explore some of the best properties California has to offer.

And if there was one room they were keen to check out first in these Malibu pads, it was most definitely the kitchen.

Home sweet home: Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana went house hunting with a realtor on Wednesday afternoon in Malibu

The loved-up duo looked happy and relaxed as they strolled through the sunny streets, even stopping off to buy a beverage from Starbucks in between viewings.

Gordon, 48, dressed down for the occasion in a sky blue T-shirt and navy chinos.

His pretty brunette wife, 40, wore a white vest top over tight black jeans and boots, covering her eyes with designer shades.

Since rising to fame in America, the TV chef purchased a home in LA in November 2011 so that he and his family could spend more time overseas without having to worry about living out of a suitcase.

He has become a prime-time flagship brand for the Fox Broadcasting Company thanks to five current shows, including Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

What’s more, his daughter Matilda, 12, is now following his footsteps in the West Coast.

She is about to star in her own cookery programme on children’s channel, CBeebies.

The proud cook commented: ‘A few months back, I was watching Matilda film her new cooking show in LA. It’s called Tillywood, and it comes out in early 2015.

‘It was just fascinating watching her, saying: “Dad’s food is posh, but my food is real food,” and showing this to her friends.’

The Kitchen Nightmares star continued: ‘She has a TV programme at 12. She has all the makings of a great chef. If you had put me in front of a camera at age 12, even then, I would have told you to f*** off.’

Before adding: ‘In 20 years time, I want to have fun with Matilda in the kitchen, not sit there with my Zimmer frame, breathing oxygen and worrying about my heart bypass.’
