The Good Doctor’s Brandon Larracuente, who plays Dr. Danny Perez, will not return as a series regular for Season 7.
As per TV Line, Larracuente will not return full-time for Season 7. However, according to an insider, he may return as a guest star. Larracuente’s diminished screen time on The Good Doctor is likely because the actor recently signed on as one of the leads on Prime Video’s On Call with Pretty Little Liars’ Troian Bellisario starring opposite of him. After Season 6’s conclusion in May, Season 7 of The Good Doctor will return sometime in the fall.
Larracuente’s Role on The Good Doctor
Larracuente debuted as Dr. Danny Perez in The Good Doctor in Season 6, Episode 2, “Change of Perspective,” when he and fellow first-year resident Dr. Danni Powell had to contend with Dr. Shaun Murphy’s (Freddie Highmore) decision to perform a xenotransplant. Danny quickly established a romantic connection with Dr. Jordan Allen (Bria Samoné Henderson). However, Danny’s past opioid addiction later catches up to him in Season 6’s fall finale, leading to him focusing on his recovery. Recent episodes of Season 6 have established a possible love triangle between Jordan, Danny and Dr. Jared Kalu (Chuku Modu), who has returned to St. Bonaventure Hospital after getting fired in Season 1.
Although best known for his work in The Good Doctor, Larracuente has also appeared as Jeff Atkins in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why and Emilio Acosta in the 2020 Freeform reboot of Party of Five. On Call, which will contain eight half-hour episodes, follows a veteran training officer named Traci Harmon (Bellisario) and her rookie ride-along Alex Diaz (Larracuente), grappling with the topical realities of being a police officer.
