The Good Doctor boss lifts lid on ‘incredibly intense’ two-part finale

THE Good Doctor viewers are braced for an explosive and heart-wrenching finale – as show bosses have revealed they WILL cry.
Tragedy strikes tonight in the first of a gripping and emotional two-part end to season 3 when Dr. Shaun Murphy and his fellow MDs find themselves in the midst of a natural disaster. An earth quake will hit California, and no one is safe from harm, including the medical team, leaving fans guessing who will perish.

The teaser for the ABC show hints at three potential casualties – and whatever happens the lead producer reckons there won’t be a dry eye watching.
The Good Doctor showrunner David Shore told Entertainment Weekly: “It’s certainly an incredibly intense two hours.

“We’re an unabashedly emotional show. I don’t think we’re melodramatic. We are dramatic, and we’ll make you cry, and we will make you smile. “It’s such a cliché, but we really do strive to do that, and we do it even more in these last two episodes.”
While The Good Doctor fans will be left guessing as to who will be struck off at the end of the season, Shore says that the prospect of the much-loved medics losing colleagues will give the finale a more poignant edge.

Shore said: “All our doctors deal with mortality on a daily basis in terms of their patients. In this episode, it becomes a little bit more personal for several of them.
“What we see in this episode are priorities being refocused or being reminded of them.”
The synopsis for the finale’s second part, which has been titled I Love You, has also been released and promises plenty of action and far-reaching consequences for the next season.
It reads: “In the second episode of the two-part finale, our doctors work against time and their own personal safety to save the lives of those around them.”It marked one of the network’s earliest renewals for the 2020–2021 television season.

Like most scripted cable television shows, The Good Doctor has always aired on an annual cycle.
