Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently shared his review of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s latest movie, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. Ohanian also revealed that he had to watch the movie alone as it was too violent for Williams.

“Finally saw #DeadpoolAndWolverine this weekend and it was everything I hoped it’d would be be and MORE. Great work, @VancityReynolds Hugh Jackman + @ShawnLevyDirect — thank you!” Ohanian said.v

Ohanian, 41, disclosed that Serena Williams did not join him as the film was excessively violent for her liking. The Reddit co-founder also said that he was nervous about being on social media over the fear of accidentally stumbling upon spoilers.

“I had to go and see it (too violent for the Mrs.) by myself because I was tired of being so nervous online. That one epic cameo was the only one I knew about going in,” he added.

Deadpool & Wolverine has been garnering huge praise from critics and fans alike and has been awarded an 8.1 rating on IMDb. It has been labeled a ‘box office smash’ by Forbes. The movie has broken collection records and has earned upwards of $1 billion as of Sunday, August 11.

Serena Williams recently gave her verdict on Zendaya’s tennis-centric movie Challenger in an interview with The New York Times. The American said it was ‘good’ but added that she wanted a more definitive ending rather than a cliffhanger.

“I thought it was good! I wanted there to be more of an ending. I told Zendaya: “Listen, is there more? Like, I want more. Did they win?” I mean, I don’t want to give away the ending,” Williams said.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion also commented that the rivalries and dynamics depicted in the film were precise, adding that the movie delved into a new theme such as ‘co-dependency’, which had not been previously explored.

“I thought it was pretty accurate. Sometimes you can become really connected to whoever you’re with, or “codependent” is a better word. I feel like I was codependent with Venus,” the 42-year-old said.

“So I actually felt like there was so much accuracy in there about things that we don’t think about as tennis players or even talk about as tennis players. There’s definitely a lot of co-depending. You can also be a loner in tennis, so I don’t know. Listen, I liked the movie. That’s all I can say,” she added.

Williams retired from tennis in 2022 after a long and illustrious career, which included 23 Grand Slam titles.
