Sheldon follows the post-wedding dinner for Georgie and Mandy’s wedding and has an unexpected reaction to not being invited to the ceremony in a new Young Sheldon season 7 clip. After getting engaged in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale, Georgie and Mandy are finally tying the knot in the midseason episode of CBS’ hit comedy. As revealed in previously released promotional materials for the outing, the couple’s closest family and friends are in attendance during the shotgun wedding, except for Sheldon.
In a new clip from Young Sheldon season 7, episode 7, “A Proper Wedding and Skeletons in the Closet,” Sheldon has an unusual reaction to not being invited to Georgie and Mandy’s wedding. Check out the clip from Young Sheldon’s official YouTube page below:
The Young Sheldon season 7 clip reveals that Dr. Linkletter drives Sheldon to the post-ceremony dinner for Georgie and Mandy. Interestingly, Sheldon doesn’t mind that he missed his brother’s wedding after his new wife explains that tying the knot was a spur-of-the-moment decision for them.
Why Sheldon Is Happy About Missing Georgie And Mandy’s Wedding In Young Sheldon
Previously, Sheldon volunteered to be Georgie’s best man for his wedding. At that point, the couple was both considering getting married traditionally, with Mary and Mandy’s mother. Subsequently, they realized that they could not force the pair to do the ceremony that they wanted, with Mandy opting for a safer way to make things official by getting hitched at the courthouse instead of a church. This is the reason why Mandy says that getting married was a last-minute idea, although they had been engaged for a while.
With no real role to play in the ceremony, Sheldon simply doesn’t care that he missed it. He fails to grasp the idea that it is supposed to be a family event, as they are marrying Georgie. He reinforces this by saying that he also doesn’t want to be invited to Missy’s wedding, which she sassily affirms. For Sheldon, not being at Georgie and Mandy’s wedding in Young Sheldon season 7 isn’t a big deal because he was at East Texas Tech, pursuing his academic endeavors, which has always been his number 1 priority.
What Sheldon and the rest of the Coopers don’t know at this point is that Georgie may be the final cause of celebration where they can all be together as a complete unit. George is confirmed to die in the upcoming Young Sheldon episodes. His death changes the collective trajectory of the clan, as revealed in The Big Bang Theory. At the very least, CBS should have made sure to get Sheldon involved in his brother’s wedding.
