NCIS LA Fans Thrilled by Daniela Ruah’s Return to the NCIS Universe in an ‘Amazing’ Role

NCIS Los Angeles fans couldn’t contain their excitement upon hearing Daniela Ruah has made a comeback to the NCIS universe.

NCIS LA’s Kensi Blye star Daniela Ruah is returning to the world of NCIS for an “awesome” role.

The CBS police procedural spin-off was sadly cancelled after 14 seasons last year, with fans waving goodbye to Agent Kensi Blye (played by Daniela Ruah) and the rest of the team.NCIS LA: daniela ruah director ncis ncis hawaii cbs

Kensi found her happy ending with husband Agent Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), having fostered Rosa Reyes (Natalia del Reigo), and discovering they were also expecting their first child by the finale.

Since the show came to an end, viewers have been curious to find out what the stars will get up to next and now it has been revealed the 40-year-old actress will be returning to the NCIS franchise.

But rather than performing in front of the camera, she is taking on the crucial role of director.

Ruah is set to direct two episodes in the NCIS franchise, the first will be the original drama, with the episode airing in March, while the second is NCIS Hawaii which will be shown in April.

She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself sitting in the director’s chair with the caption: “Back in the @ncisverse learning, creating and feeling blissful…” and fans couldn’t wait to congratulate the star.

One viewer replied: “So awesome to see you back with NCIS! Miss Kensi & Deeks.”

Another posted: “Happy to have you in the ncis universe! Miss the show!”, while a third commented: “I miss NCIS: LA so much, but I can’t wait to see the episode you’ll direct on NCIS.

“You’re going to do an awesome job Daniela.”

This won’t be the first time Daniela has sat in the director’s chair, having made her directorial debut back in NCIS LA season 12.

She then went on to direct six episodes before the drama aired its final ever episode on May 14, 2023.

Daniela told Deadline at the time: “Kensi was born as a character on NCIS, 15 years ago, so now to be able to step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honour.ncis los angeles kensi blye actress daniela ruah director

“So many familiar faces and people I love, and they’ve welcomed me with open arms. It’s like coming home.”

Even though NCIS LA is no more, thankfully, there is still more to come from the other dramas in the franchise.

Both NCIS and NCIS Hawaii were given the green light by the network to make a comeback for their 21st and third series respectively.

Monday, February 12, will be a night to remember for NCIS fans with the CBS universe’s new series set to debut on this date.
