“Exciting News! ‘Family Matters’ Parents to Reunite for New Lifetime Movie”

A long-overdue Family Matters reunion is finally happening!

Nearly 20 years after the hit 90s sitcom went off the air, Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton (who portrayed husband and wife Carl Winslow and Harriette Winslow, respectively) are teaming up to costar in the upcoming Lifetime movie, The Flight Before Christmas — and we can’t wait to see the duo back in action!

In the new TV movie — set to premiere on Saturday, Dec. 5. at 8 pm EST — the former onscreen couple star alongside The Big Bang Theory actress Mayim Bialik as well as Ryan McPartlin from NBC’s Chuck.
The holiday flick is centered around Mayim and Ryan’s characters, who find themselves stranded in the same room at a bed-and-breakfast after an unexpected snowstorm alters their flight plans.

In addition to playing the Winslow family patriarch on Family Matters, the 63-year-old actor is known for starring as LAPD Sgt. Al Powell in the Die Hard films. He is now appearing on the TBS sitcom, Clipped.

Jo Marie Payton (Harriette Baines-Winslow)

After starring on Family Matters, Jo Marie, 65, had a guest role as Will Truman’s boss’ personal assistant on Will & Grace from 1999 until 2000 and provided the voice for Suga Mama Proud on the Disney Channel animated series The Proud Family from 2001 to 2005. She now plays Lorraine Mann on the Bounce TV series Mann & Wife.

Darius McCrary (Eddie Winslow)

In addition to Family Matters, Darius, 40, has starred in movies Big Shots, Transformers and Saw VI and appeared on TV shows including Freedom, The Young and the Restless and Anger Management. In March 2015, the twice-divorced actor was arrested for failing to pay child support.

Jaimee’s character, Judy, was written off the show after the fourth season due to budget cuts. Judy disappeared without explanation and was never mentioned again by the Winslows during the series’ remaining five seasons. After being cut from Family Matters, the actress, 36, battled substance abuse and depression. The mom-of-one now stars in pornographic films under the name Crave.

In addition to Family matters, Jaleel, 39, has appeared on TV shows Boston Legal, House, Psych, Dancing with the Stars and Total Blackout and in movies Dreamgirls, Dumbbells and Big Fat Liar. The father-of-one is also known for voicing Sonic the Hedgehog in the animated series’ Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground.

During her nearly 60-year career in showbiz, Rosetta was known for being a stage, screen and television actress as well as a Broadway producer and casting agent. Just four years after Family Matters went off the air, the star sadly died of complications from diabetes in 2002 at age 90.
