When will Jaleel White be at Daytona’s ‘90s Con?
White will attend the event Saturday, Sept. 14, and Sunday, Sept. 15.
According to organizers, he will be there “for autographs, selfies, photo ops and a Q&A panel.”
White plans to launch a memoir in November called “Growing Up Urkel,” which is available for preorder on his website, jaleelwhite.com.
Urkel’s success on ‘Family Matters’
White’s rise to fame came when he was 12 years old, appearing as Steve Urkel in an episode of ABC’s hit sitcom “Family Matters.”
Urkel’s character was intended as a one-time appearance — the lovable nerdy teenager and next-door neighbor to the Winslow family.
But the character’s popularity grew to the point that White’s character became the face of “Family Matters.”
Besides the success of his catchphrase “Did I do that?” the star character also became known for his suspenders, high-waisted pants and glasses.
The show ran from 1989-98, after which White went on to voice the animated character Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as star in other movies and TV shows like “Dreamgirls,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Guess Who,” “Grown Ups” and more.
Who else will be at Daytona’s ‘90s Con?
Several other stars from the 1990s will also attend the event.
Names include Juliette Lewis (“Christmas Vacation,” “Cape Fear”), Shannon Doherty (“Beverly Hills 90120,” “Charmed”), Carmen Electra (MTV’s game show “Singled Out,” “Baywatch,” “Scary Movie” franchise), Joey Lawrence (“Blossom,” “Brotherly Love”) and more.
Thats4Entertainment’s Monday morning post also said that there will be “more celebrity guest announcements” this week.
The event is scheduled from Sept. 13 through 15 at the Ocean Center, located at 101 N. Atlantic Ave.
