Spoilers for Yellowstone seasons 1-5 follow.
Get ready for more romance, family drama, violence, and betrayal as *Yellowstone* Season 5 Part 2 is set to premiere on November 10 in the US and November 11 in the UK.
The Dutton family’s saga, which centers around the largest ranch in Montana, has become one of Paramount’s biggest hits. When *Yellowstone* returned in November 2022, it drew 12.1 million viewers in the US, surpassing the viewership of the Season 4 finale.
However, recent years have seen behind-the-scenes drama that rivals the show’s on-screen action, particularly reports of tension between co-creator Taylor Sheridan and star Kevin Costner.
It has now been confirmed that Costner will not be returning for the final episodes of this season, and John Dutton will be absent from the concluding episodes later this year. This fifth season will also mark the end of *Yellowstone*.
Sheridan expressed his disappointment about Costner’s departure, stating: “It truncates the closure of his character. It doesn’t alter it, but it truncates it.”
The last we saw of the Duttons, John (Costner) was settling into his role as Montana’s governor, while Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) were gearing up for an all-out war.
Season 4 concluded with a wedding, a court case, blackmail, and murder—setting a high bar for the Season 5 finale, which will also be the end of the show that launched the Sheridanverse.
