‘FBI’ Season 7 Premiere: Scola in the Hospital! Plus, Hint at Tiffany’s Exit

Agent down! FBI is kicking off its seventh season by saying goodbye to one of its agents (Katherine Renee Kane‘s Tiffany Wallace) and another (John Boyd‘s Stuart Scola!) in the hospital. Uh-oh — this is going to be intense!

CBS has released a logline and photos for the October 15 premiere “Abandoned.” In the episode, the assassination of a seemingly ordinary Brooklyn plumber launches the team into a globe-spanning investigation that ruffles feathers with the CIA. Meanwhile, Tiffany struggles with fieldwork in the aftermath of the Hakim case. (Hakim had killed Hobbs while he and Tiffany were undercover in the Season 6 premiere; she struggled with the guilt through the finale, when she shot and killed an armed Hakim.)

The photos, which you can check out below, offer a look at the team working the case as well as Scola in the hospital. What lands him there has yet to be revealed, though we’re not too worried. With Kane exiting FBI this season (we only know she’s in at least one episode), as was revealed in August, we know that Lisette Olivera is coming in as a new series regular as Syd, Scola’s new partner, so we know he doesn’t die. But the effects of his injury could lead to quite the storyline for Boyd this season. And we have to wonder if Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) is in the field because of the nature of the case (obviously enough to get the Assistant Special Agent in Charge out of the office) or because they’re down someone because Scola’s already been hurt.

But could whatever happens with Scola, perhaps combined with her struggling with fieldwork after what happened with the Hakim case, be part of what leads to Tiffany deciding she has to leave the team?
