When Does ‘Fire Country’ Return? Everything To Know About Season 3

Max Thieriot’s firefighter show is coming in hot for Season 3. If you’re excited to watch the next chapter of the CBS drama, read on for everything to know about Fire Country Season 3, from the release date to the new and returning cast.

Fire Country is CBS’ firefighter series that debuted on the network in 2022. Thieriot plays Bode Donovan, a convict who volunteers with the California Conservation Camp Program to assist Cal Fire. The prison unintentionally sends Bode to his hometown in Northern California, where he must fight dangerous wildfires alongside his family, former friends, inmates, and professional firefighters.

CBS renewed Fire Country for a third season in March 2024. At the time of its renewal, the series was averaging 9.21 million viewers in live 7-day multiplatform viewing, which is +7% from last year. Fire Country was also in the top 6 in streaming on Paramount+, Deadline reported.

When Does Fire Country Return For Season 3 On CBS?

Fire Country Season 3 will return on Friday, October 18, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. New episodes will also stream on demand for Paramount+ for Essential subscribers the next day.

How Many Episodes Will Be In Fire Country Season 3?

CBS has not yet confirmed the episode count for Fire Country Season 3, but it is expected to be a full season. Season 2 was shortened to 10 episodes due to delays from the now-resolved writers’ and actors’ strikes.

Who Is In The Fire Country Season 3 Cast?

The main cast of Fire Country Season 2 is expected to return for Season 3, including Thieriot as Bode Donovan, Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, Stephanie Arcila as Gabriela Perez, Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards, Diane Farr as Sharon Leone, and Billy Burke as Vince Leone.

Newcomers include Leven Rambin as Audrey, a former fire camp inmate. Jared Padalecki will also appear in a guest arc as Camden. His recurring character is described as “a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Max Thieriot) raw talent.”

Unfortunately, one cast member not returning in Season 3 is Cara (Sabina Gadecki), Bode’s ex-girlfriend, who was killed off in Episode 5. The actress revealed before her character’s death that it was not her decision to leave Fire Country in Season 2. “If I had any involvement, I would be not dead,” Gadecki told Us Weekly before Episode 5 aired.

What Will Fire Country Season 3 Be About?

Season 3 will see Bode grapple with his true feelings for Gabriela. They shared a kiss in Season 2, but Gabriela still decided to move forward with her wedding to Diego (even though they didn’t officially tie the knot because Manny had to turn himself in to the police).

“Gabriela and Diego’s relationship is a smart match. He is the logical choice. He’ll give her a great life. He’s a sweet guy. He has a wonderful family. He’s a talented guy. He’s gorgeous. They obviously have chemistry. They go dancing together. Their marriage would be a strong one and a long one,” showrunner Tia Napolitano told TV Guide following the Season 2 finale. “Is it her ultimate true love? I think that’s for her to tell us and for us to explore.”

Napolitano added that Bode will have more free time now that he’s out of the orange jumpsuit. “He can have a lot more fun. He can have some joy at Smokey’s and go to Jake’s apartment and do things that a normal 30-year-old man can do,” she said. “It’ll feel very refreshing and a breath of fresh air because Bode hasn’t been able to do those things for basically our entire show.”

The showrunner also told TVLine that the theme for the third season is “wish fulfillment,” because “we finally get to see Bode out [of Three Rock], after wanting it since the pilot…. Our goal is to have a lot of fun with him next season and … bring some levity and joy to Bode.”
