In an interview with TVLine, Olsen expressed a mix of nostalgia and reluctance regarding the idea of stepping back into Deeks’ shoes. While he fondly reminisces about his time with co-stars like LL Cool J and maintains close ties with Daniela Ruah, he admitted that he’s not particularly eager to reprise the role right now. He stated, “I actively miss Todd,” referring to his character’s dynamics, but emphasized his current focus on other projects, including his role as an executive producer on the new Matlock series.
The NCIS franchise is currently in a transitional phase, with the upcoming NCIS Season 22 premiering on October 14, alongside new spinoffs like NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Tony & Ziva on Paramount+. Given this landscape, Olsen suggested that the timing might not be right for the NCIS: LA characters to make appearances. However, he remains optimistic that their stories aren’t finished just yet.
