Meet the Tracker Cast: Justin Hartley’s New Co-Stars Are a Departure from Young & Restless

Tracker is CBS’ action drama series following Colter Shaw, a “lone-wolf survivalist” who travels the United States as a “reward seeker,” who helps people and law enforcement solve a variety of mysteries through his expert tracking skills. The series, which premiered on February 11, 2024 after the Super Bowl LIX, is based on Jeffrey Deaver’s book series, The Never Game.

Justin Hartley, who both stars as Colter and is also an executive producer on Tracker told TV Insider in January 2024 about how his character is different and similar to his notable role as Kevin Pearson in NBC’s This Is Us. “I carry Kevin with me a little bit into this role,” he said. “This is an action thriller and Colter’s circumstances are completely different. You’ve got the father and the question about what happened there. You’ve got family drama, you’ve got questions that there are no answers to. I think if you put Kevin in Colter’s boots, he would be dead in a day. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have the same heart.” He also noted the differences between the flashbacks in Tracker and This Is Us. “The flashbacks in the pilot are necessary to tell a quick story, like, ‘This is where this guy is,’” he said. “We’ll get away from them a little bit more as the series goes on.”

As Justin Hartley steps into his latest role in the upcoming series Tracker, fans are eager to see how his new co-stars compare to his previous colleagues on The Young and the Restless. This fresh ensemble promises to bring a different dynamic to the screen, showcasing a range of talent and diverse characters.

A New Ensemble

In Tracker, Hartley is joined by a cast that features a mix of familiar faces and rising stars. Each actor brings their unique flair, contributing to a story filled with intrigue and emotional depth. This new project allows Hartley to explore different facets of his acting abilities, moving away from the soap opera roots that defined his career for so long.

Contrasting Styles

While The Young and the Restless is known for its dramatic, often heightened storytelling, Tracker aims for a more grounded approach. The characters in Tracker face real-world challenges, allowing the cast to delve into nuanced performances that reflect their characters’ complexities.

Fresh Perspectives

The diverse backgrounds and experiences of Hartley’s new co-stars will undoubtedly influence the tone of the series. This collaboration offers an opportunity for the cast to learn from one another and develop their craft in a new environment, setting a fresh stage for storytelling.

Conclusion

As Justin Hartley transitions from The Young and the Restless to Tracker, the new cast promises to bring a unique blend of talent and perspective. Fans can look forward to an engaging series that highlights the evolution of its characters and the depth of their stories. Stay tuned for more updates as Tracker prepares to make its debut!
