Stefania Spampinato Emotional at Station 19 Series Finale Table Read

In a touching moment during the final table read for Station 19, Stefania Spampinato, who plays Dr. Carina DeLuca, couldn’t hold back her emotions, breaking down in tears as the cast prepared to say goodbye to the beloved series.

“Most of us were crying,” Spampinato shared in a video posted on Station 19’s official Instagram. “Peter [Paige] cried throughout the whole thing, but that doesn’t make news anymore; he cries all the time.”

The video featured moments from the cast’s reading of the series finale, a two-part episode with the first half airing on May 24. As the cast gathered, tissues were readily available, highlighting the bittersweet atmosphere. At one point, Spampinato covered her head with a towel as she sobbed, comforted by her co-star and on-screen wife, Danielle Savre.

While Savre managed to keep her tears at bay, she expressed her gratitude for the seven seasons and 100 episodes they shared. “I’m really grateful that we had seven amazing years and made so many incredible memories,” she said.Watch Station 19 Streaming Online | Hulu (Free Trial)

Spampinato echoed these sentiments but added a note of reluctance to fully say goodbye. “I feel like maybe it’s not a full goodbye, maybe it’s like ‘till soon,’” she reflected. “Let’s leave it at that. No goodbyes.”

Spampinato joined Station 19 in Season 3, transitioning from her role on Grey’s Anatomy, and became a central character in the series.

The cancellation of Station 19 was announced in December 2023, much to the surprise of fans. Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomy and executive producer of Station 19, also expressed her appreciation for the series’ journey, thanking the cast and viewers for their support throughout its run.

As the cast prepares for their final episodes, the emotional impact of the series and the connections formed over the years are palpable, leaving fans and actors alike reflecting on the memories created during its seven-season journey.
