In Hartford, Connecticut last weekend, the “Full House” cast gathered at 90s Con and discussed the recent reboot, “Fuller House,” during a panel discussion.
Of course, the topic of yet another reboot quickly came up.
Following the tragic death of original cast member Bob Saget in January, the cast has often made headlines for comments about how the actor was the lynchpin of the show.
A discussion surrounding the loss led to talks about a possible new reboot and the format that it could take.
“Like, okay, we’ll do ‘Fullest House,’” said Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone. He was only half kidding though, as he soon admitted he’d be up for it. “I think we would in a heartbeat,” he said. Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) and Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner) agreed.
“There’s a lot of moms bringing their little girls,” said Barber to the Today show of the different generations of fans that support the show. “It’s such a wonderful full-circle moment to see these moms who were like, ‘I grew up with you guys, and now my daughters are growing up with you on Fuller House.’”
When People asked Bure about another reboot, she stated, “I think that’s a fun idea.” Coulier then joked again that he’d like to play John Stamos in one of Bure’s Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.
No doubt the cast harbor some conflicts over continuing any “Full House” ideas without Saget, who also appeared in 10 episodes of the “Fuller House” reboot that ran from 2016 to 2020 on Netflix.
“It would be hard,” said Barber at the 90s Con, “but I think Bob would want that.”“Full House” became a family favorite when it ran from 1987-1995. The cast consider themselves a “real family” on and off screen.
“This may sound kind of sappy,” Coulier told E! News, “but we really do love each other. We’ve been through everything together – births, deaths, marriages, divorces, our shows being picked up and canceled. We’re a real family on and off camera.”
