The Chicago Fire beloved mascot, Tuesday, has passed away

Chicago Fire’s Station 51 lost a beloved member of the family shortly before the season finale aired. The Dalmatian known as Tuesday passed away last week.

Tuesday’s trainer, Christine Mahaney, confirmed the dog’s passing via social media.

“As Tuesday’s trainer this may be the most difficult post I ever make. With the season 10 finale also comes Tuesday’s last episode on Chicago Fire. It breaks my heart to share that Tuesday passed away on Sunday, May 22, due to unforeseen kidney issues. The love from you, Tuesday’s fans, over the past 4 years has been immense.

Allowing her into your homes and hearts will forever be cherished. Tuesday loved working on set and being a part of the Chicago Fire family. Her tail never stopped wagging. She truly was very special.”Tuesday was first introduced in season 7 as Darren Ritter’s (Daniel Kyri) dog who suffered from separation anxiety. Ritter began bringing her to the station during his shifts and everyone quickly fell in love with her.

Tuesday even had her own storyline in Season 7, episode 11, when Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) attempted to train her for a dog competition. The competition didn’t go as planned and Tuesday abandoned Kidd to run off, pin a child to the ground, and lick the child’s face!Mahaney explained that Tuesday was well loved by both the cast and the crew, “She’s very social. When I have a call time, I have to allow extra time for Tuesday to say her hellos to every single person she sees on her way in, and then when we’re wrapped, she never leaves the set without saying many goodbyes to her people, as she thinks they are.”

Tuesday made her final appearance on the show during the season finale. She was one of the first members of the crew to welcome Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) when he returned from Portland to attend the wedding.
Tuesday also attended the wedding which took place on the Wendella and Reel Chicago recently shared a wonderful behind the scenes photo of Tuesday sitting patiently between takes being the very best girl a dog could be, while donning a pink satin “flower girl” sash tucked into her collar.
