Roseanne revival will completely ignore that dumb twist from the original series finale

Don’t worry, Roseanne fans, the revival will completely ignore that twist from the original series finale, which revealed that David was actually with Becky.

TV Line has learned that producers have started to search for a young actress and actor to play the children of Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and David (Johnny Galecki).

In the 1997 finale, David and Darlene’s whole relationship was erased when the show paired David with Becky, and Darlene with Mark – because Darlene and David’s relationship was a figment of Roseanne’s (Roseanne Barr) imagination.

So, the casting of David and Darlene’s kids pretty much confirms that the revival is undoing the dumb twist – and that’s not the only thing they’re ignoring…

In another bizarre turn of events for the show’s final season, it was revealed by the end of the series that John Goodman’s character Dan had died and everything that had followed didn’t actually happen.

Fortunately, Goodman will be back to reprise his role, and the rest of the family have all also signed up to return, including Darlene (Gilbert) and Roseanne (Barr).

However, there’s no news on whether Galecki will be returning as David, with ABC still trying to work out how much he will be able to appear in the series due to his Big Bang Theory commitments at CBS.

During its nine years on the air, Roseanne won three Golden Globes and seven Primetime Emmy Awards, and set the standard for many dysfunctional family sitcoms that followed in the ’90s.
