Surprise! Virgin River Season 6 Is Premiering This December

Happy holidays, indeed! Netflix has announced that Virgin River will premiere season six this December with all 10 episodes dropping at once. (Last year, there were 10 episodes in season five, plus two bonus holiday episodes, which aired following the Thanksgiving holiday.)

For a while, it looked like the new season of Virgin River wouldn’t premiere until early 2025, given that the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023 pushed production back by months. Filming for season six wrapped in late spring 2024.

Now, with the news of Virgin River’s upcoming premiere date (Thursday, December 19, to be exact), Netflix has also released new photos of the season, which show a very pregnant Lizzie, a solemn-looking Muriel (with Cameron!), and, of course, our central couple, Mel and Jack.

When will Virgin River season 6 premiere?
Mark Thursday, December 19, on your calendar, as all 10 episodes will be available at once.

What is the new season about?
Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix: “Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.”

Which cast members are returning?
The season regulars for season six include: Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel), Martin Henderson (Jack), Tim Matheson (Doc), Annette O’Toole (Hope), Colin Lawrence (Preacher), Benjamin Hollingsworth (Brady), Zibby Allen (Brie), Sarah Dugdale (Lizzie), Marco Grazzini (Mike), Kai Bradbury (Denny), Kandyse McClure (Kaia), and Mark Ghanime (Cameron).

Of course, actors like Teryl Rothery (Muriel) and the women of the sewing circle will also return.
