CBS’s Ghosts season 4: release date, cast and everything we know about the comedy series

With the ending of Young Sheldon, Ghosts is now the biggest sitcom airing on CBS, a trend it hopes to continue as Ghosts season 4 is returns as part of the 2024 fall TV schedule.

The adaptation of the BBC show is the latest example of a UK import becoming a big hit in the US (The Office, anyone?) Following Ghosts season 3 and its big exits and revelations, there is plenty more of the supernatural and afterlife to explore in the comedy series.

What lies in store for Ghosts season 4? Here is everything that we know about the latest season of the comedy.

It now headlines CBS’s Thursday night lineup, which for fall 2024 consists of new series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, new series Matlock and the return of Elsbeth season 2.

If you want to watch Ghosts live (including season 3, which is still airing new episodes), you need access to CBS through a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna, a live TV streaming service that carries the network (Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) or a Paramount Plus with Showtime subscription. To watch past episodes on-demand, any Paramount Plus subscription will work.

The main Ghosts cast are all set to return for season 4, including Rose McIver as Sam, Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, Brandon Scott Jones as Isaac, Danielle Pinnock as Alberta, Richie Moriarty as Pete, Asher Grodman as Trevor, Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn, Roman Zaragoza as Sasappis and Rebecca Wisocky as Hetty.

It is unclear if Sheila Carrasco’s Flower is going to pop in every once in a while as she did at the end of season 3 now that he character has officially moved on.

As for new additions to the cast, Mary Holland is joining the show as Patience, a Puritan ghost from the 1600s, while Dean Norris is going to guest star as Sam’s father during the season.

Ghosts season 4 plot

We don’t know a lot of specifics about Ghosts season 4 at this time, but they’ll definitely have to pick things up from the season 3 cliffhanger that saw Isaac not marry Nigel and then be kidnapped by Patience and other “basement ghosts.”

Another interesting detail that has emerged is that Sam is no longer going to be the only one who can see the ghosts. In an interview with Variety at San Diego Comic Con 2024, Utkarsh Ambudkar revealed that his character Jay is going to start seeing the ghosts in season 4, but how that happens is still a mystery and it may not be a permanent thing.

CBS has released the synopsis for the Ghosts season 4 premiere. Check it out right here:

“While Sam and the ghosts race to find him, Isaac comes face to face with Puritan ghost Patience for the first time since she was lost in the dirt.”
