The Reagans are gearing up for one last ride as Blue Bloods approaches the end of its run. Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive reveal of the trailer for the upcoming episodes, premiering October 18 on CBS.
The promo opens with a nostalgic tribute to the series’ “14 seasons of unforgettable memories,” showcasing a montage of key moments—weddings, family gatherings, and, of course, police work. Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) addresses a class of new NYPD recruits, stating, “It is with profound praise and gratitude that I welcome you, ready to serve and protect the most vibrant city in the world.”
Amidst the celebratory scenes, the core cast reflects on their motivations. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) asserts, “Being a good detective is catching bad guys, reuniting families, saving lives.” Erin (Bridget Moynahan) confidently states, “I became a prosecutor, and I’m damn good at it.” Jamie (Will Estes) adds, “Really, I always wanted to be a cop.” Frank summarizes, “When we have everyone we love, we have everything—and for that, we should be grateful.” He ominously concludes, “Trust me, there’s more to this story.”
The tone shifts as New York City Mayor Peter Chase (Dylan Walsh) holds a press conference, hinting at threats to the Reagans’ livelihoods. “Our city has seen a drastic rise in random crime,” he announces. “Our police officers are doing everything they can. But it’s time for stronger medicine.”
Frank voices his concerns, telling the mayor, “You can’t do your job.” When pressed by his family about his next steps, Frank replies, “Hopefully the right thing.” A convict, played by Edward James Olmos, confronts Frank in his office, challenging him with, “Look in the mirror. You think you’re the good guy.”
Meanwhile, Erin appears to be in trouble, seemingly arrested in her office. “Erin Reagan, you have the right to remain silent,” says Queens District Attorney Evaline Romano (Debi Mazar). Erin expresses her fears about disbarment, saying, “I don’t know what I’ll do if I get disbarred.”
Danny is also facing challenges, with footage showing him looking flustered and getting aggressive during arrests. Frank defends him: “My son is a decorated cop and a fine family man.” However, Grace (Lori Loughlin) is skeptical, noting, “He’s from New York’s most visible cop family and has a reputation as a loose cannon.” In a tense moment, Danny tells his grandfather Henry (Len Cariou), “It’s just getting a little personal.”
The trailer culminates in high-octane footage of police operations, promising an intense and emotional conclusion for the Reagans as they fight for their futures.
