Jensen Ackles Returns To Save Colter In New Tracker Season 2 Clip
A new clip from Tracker season 2 has been released, revealing Jensen Ackles’ return as Russell Shaw, saving his brother Colter (Justin Hartley) when they stop to recharge. Ackles joined the cast of Tracker as a guest star in season 1, portraying Colter’s estranged brother, who he blamed for the death of their father, Ashton (Lee Tergesen). However, the pair made up when they reconnected, building a level of trust between the brothers once more. With his return in season 2 solidified, it was only a matter of time before they worked together again.
Now, Entertainment Weekly has released an exclusive clip on their website of Tracker season 2, episode 2, showing Colter and Russell pulling off to the side of the road after an unclear altercation. Russell winds up breaking his brother’s phone so a group of people can’t track them down, before noticing an RFID chip in the back of Colter’s neck. He cuts it out and Colter stuffs it into his phone, tossing it off the side of the road to keep whoever’s following them busy.
What Jensen Ackles’ Return Clip Means For Tracker Season 2
He’ll Still Show Up To Help His Brother Out
Since Tracker season 2 is promising even more high-octane cases for Colter to tackle, it makes sense that he’d have Russell helping him out on some of the more difficult ones. Season 2, episode 2 seems to diverge from the typical storyline, though, with an additional interview clip from EW revealing the main character has been captured while tracking down a possible UFO. This results in his brother getting recruited to find and rescue him, the clip taking place after the pair have been reunited.
Although there’s no confirmation that aliens are going to show up in the next episode, it’s clear Colter has been captured by a determined group of people who want to know where he is at all times. The brothers’ language during the clip indicates their adversaries are indeed human, although what they want and the details of the investigation remain a mystery. However, there’s still plenty that remains unknown about the end goal for the episode, meaning the pair’s escape could put them back into conflict with whoever took the main character.
Our Take On Jensen Ackles Returning In Tracker Season 2
We Want To See Even Moe Russell Shaw
Although it’s unclear how many episodes Ackles will appear in during season 2, Russell has proven himself a capable partner to Colter, making the show better whenever they work together. Because of this, we’d love to see more of him not just in season 2, but in a potential Tracker season 3. While he’s not billed as a main character in this upcoming season, that could change depending on how much he appears, and because of his popular reception.
