Game Of Thrones’ Lena Headey Dives Into A Twisty Conspiracy In Beacon 23 Trailer

MGM+ unveils the official trailer for the upcoming sci-fi show Beacon 23, starring Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey and Homecoming’s Stephan James.
The trailer has arrived for Lena Headey’s newest show Beacon 23. Headey, who is best known for playing Cersei Lannister on the hit HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones, will be playing Aster Calyx, a character who is awakened after her ship brings her to a beacon at the edge of the known universe. The show, which is based on the Hugh Howey short stories of the same name and premieres on MGM+ on November 12, also stars Stephan James, Marnie McPhail, Daniel Malik, and Cyrus Faird.
MGM+ has now unveiled an official trailer offering a glimpse at Lena Headey in Beacon 23. Check it out closer below:
The trailer begins with Calyx awakening on the titular beacon, though it quickly becomes apparent that coming to this particular lonely outpost was all part of her plan. However, her efforts to discover more about the beacon keeper Halan Kai Nelson (James) aren’t as fruitful as she hopes, leading to a complicated game where the motives of both sides remain murky.

Everything The Trailer Reveals About Beacon 23
So far, the trailer hasn’t revealed too much about the plot of MGM+’s Beacon 23. However, it does show that there is an external threat in addition to the threats that Calyx and Nelson pose to one another. Quick shots of action at the end of the trailer reveal that they will have to work together to defend the beacon from a siege that neither party seems to have anything to do with.
However, it remains difficult to tell exactly where Calyx’s allegiances lie. Just like Game of Thrones’ Cersei Lannister before her, she is a woman who holds many secrets and has the ability to show many different faces in order to get what she wants. It seems that there is something valuable on the beacon, a mysterious object known as The Artifact, and her efforts are most likely focused on acquiring it, but to what end remains unknown.

The trailer also showcases a third element that could complicate the action at the center of Beacon 23. Although there are only two humans on board the beacon, there is also an artificial intelligence being on board, which could end up providing them with their greatest threat of all. As they attempt to unravel the mysteries of The Artifact, and each other, working together may prove to be the only way for either of them to survive.
