Kelli Giddish is reportedly reprising her role as Detective Amanda Rollins for the season 25 premiere of Law & Order: SVU.

Mariska Hargitay, who has been present as Olivia Benson for all 24 seasons since the show’s 1999 debut, seemingly confirmed Giddish’s return after TVLine reported the news Tuesday.

“Back with my lil boo thang,” Hargitay, 59, captioned an Instagram video of the pair dancing to Paul Russell’s track “Lil Boo Thang.” Both were dressed similar to their characters.

“This is everything to me rn,” NBC, the network that airs the long-running scripted crime drama, wrote in the comment section.

PEOPLE reached out to Giddish’s reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Giddish, 43, stepped away from the series midway through season 24 last December. However, she returned for a cameo in the season finale, which was part of a crossover with Law & Order and Law & Order: Organized Crime. In the episode, Rollins was pregnant and expecting her first child with Assistant District Attorney Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanavino).

In August 2022, PEOPLE confirmed that she would be leaving Law & Order: SVU.

“Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life. I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the last 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life,” she said after more than a decade of being a key character on the hit series.

“It’s funny because, after last night’s show, it does feel more final now. I didn’t expect today to feel that way,” she told PEOPLE. “Now it’s over and everyone’s seen it. Everyone’s gotten to experience it and feel all the feels that I felt, filming that last scene with Mariska.”

In her final episode as a main castmember, Rollins and Benson shared a sweet embrace after her wedding to Carisi. Giddish admitted that the scripted farewell between the real-life friends made her quite emotional.

When discussing the tears she cried on camera, Giddish said, “Of course [they were real]. Of course.”
