‘Virgin River’ Stars Share Exciting Season 7 Renewal, but Fans Worry About Missing Character

The stars of Virgin River recently announced the thrilling news of the show’s renewal for a seventh season, just months before the much-anticipated sixth season premieres on December 19.

In a video shared on the official Instagram page, cast members including Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Colin Lawrence, and Zibby Allen expressed their excitement about the upcoming season. The caption celebrated the renewal, stating, “Good news, Virgin River is confirmed to come back for Season 7! More love, drama, and small-town charm coming your way. You’re very welcome.”

However, fans were left concerned by the noticeable absence of Annette O’Toole, who plays Hope, prompting comments like, “Respectfully… WHERE THE HELL IS HOPE?” and “Ummmmm—just realized that Hope isn’t in this promo. If Hope’s gone, count me out.”

Hope has faced significant challenges recently, including a traumatic brain injury that led to her being removed as mayor. Despite this, she made a strong comeback during a town crisis and was reinstated as mayor.

Fans can rest easy knowing that Hope will return in Season 6, with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirming her relationship with Doc is in a healthier place. “With Season 6, we’re getting to see Doc and Hope thriving,” he told Deadline. “They’ve faced many challenges, but now it’s an opportunity to see them in a different light.”

Meanwhile, Jack and Mel are on their journey to parenthood, and the new season will delve into Mel’s father’s backstory, including flashbacks to 1972.

The series promises a romantic spring wedding season for Mel and Jack, filled with fresh twists, love triangles, and secrets from Mel’s father’s past that will transport viewers back to the enchanting world of Virgin River.
