When Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 announced this competition would be Head Chefs only, the popular food television show set the assumption that these chefs could execute the iconic Gordon Ramsay menu with precision. After a few dinner services, the reality is far different. Can the Blue Team make it through a dinner service in the next round?
In several Hell’s Kitchen seasons, one team or the other goes on a roll. Sometimes the reason can be because the chefs can communicate with each other better. Occasionally, there is a little luck in the cards.
For Season 23, the Blue Team has struggled. Communication is clearly an issue. Even though head chefs can sometimes have egos, it is more than my way or the highway vibe. It seems like these chefs cannot master the Gordon Ramsay menu or simply execute properly cooked proteins. It is curious that there are so many issues on the Blue Team.
Given that the group has been unable to finish a dinner service, their fate seems dire. They might have had some glimmer of hope, but things need to change, and change quickly.
Some of the Blue Team’s tension has come from Egypt. After his elimination, the tide could be turning for the group. The old saying about an apple spoiling the bunch has merit, but a dinner service is not always dependent on a single chef.
The truth is that the Blue Team has to want to change and improve. If they are happy with their current outcome, then the numbers will continue to dwindle and no man will be left standing.
It is clear that the Blue Team can cook. The other challenges showcase that fact. If they can channel all that creativity and execution into a dinner service, they could be safe from losing another team member.
