In an exclusive interview with Screen Time, Kandyse McClure, who plays Kaia Bryant, teased some major drama surrounding Jack (Martin Henderson) and Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) much-anticipated wedding in the upcoming sixth season of Netflix’s beloved small-town drama.
The new season, which drops on December 19, will continue the rollercoaster journey of Mel and Jack’s love story, following a whirlwind fifth season and two unforgettable Christmas specials. “You see us on stage, we’re singing together,” McClure teased. “Let’s just say it was a wild day and night.” According to the actress, the scene was filmed at a real Vancouver bar, which McClure was no stranger to. “I’ve had a few nights in this bar that I can probably call on right now,” she joked, hinting that the bachelorette celebration would be an unforgettable event.

In addition to the wedding and the bachelorette party, McClure hinted that this season will feature some jaw-dropping moments that will keep fans on the edge of their seats. “Absolutely. There’s a couple,” she confirmed. “Now that I’m thinking about it there are a few, in fact. I think you’re going to see a different side of people we think we really know. And a kind of deepening of that understanding of who those people really are.”
McClure also teased that there would be some powerful performances ahead that could leave fans speechless. “There’s some really powerful performances coming up this season,” she promised, suggesting that the emotional stakes will be higher than ever before.
