Betty White Was Blasted In Extremely Vulgar Terms By Her ‘Golden Girls’ Co-Stars

While Betty White was beloved by all of America, it has now shockingly been revealed that her former “The Golden Girls” co-stars Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan previously slammed her as a “f***ing c***!”

It’s been about six weeks since White passed away at the age of 99 just 17 days short of her 100th birthday.

Arthur And McClanahan Didn’t Like White
Daily Mail reported that this was revealed by “Golden Girls” casting director Joel Thurm, who confirmed that Arthur and McClanahan were not fans of White.

“Literally Bea Arthur, who I cast in something else later on, just said, ‘Oh, she’s a f***ing c***,’ using that word,” he recalled while appearing on The Originals podcast.

“Bea Arthur called Betty White a C-word?” a stunned entertainment journalist Andrew Goldman said in response.

“Yeah, she called her the C-word. I mean, I heard that with my own ears,” Thurm continued. “And by the way, so did Rue McClanahan. Rue McClanahan said it to me in Joe Allen’s [restaurant]; Bea Arthur [when she was] on the set of ‘Beggars And Choosers.’”

Friction On Set Of ‘The Golden Girls’
Thurm went on to discuss the friction on the set of “The Golden Girls,” recalling how cast member Estelle Getty would struggle to remember her lines. She would later die of Lewy body dementia at the age of 84 in 2008.

“And she [Getty] would write the lines on her hand, and … Betty White would make fun of her in front of the live audience,” Thurm explained. “That may seem like a minor transgression, but it really does get to you … I have no idea how Estelle Getty felt, but I know the other two did not like [White] at all.”

Betty White Knew Bea Arthur Was ‘Not That Fond’ Of Her
In 2011, White opened up about her co-star Bea Arthur disliking her in an interview with The Village Voice. Arthur had died two years prior at the age of 86 after a battle with lung cancer.

“Bea had a reserve. She was not that fond of me. She found me a pain in the neck sometimes,” White remembered at the time. “It was my positive attitude — and that made Bea mad sometimes. Sometimes if I was happy, she’d be furious!”

McClanahan passed away in 2010 at the age of 76 following a brain hemorrhage, leaving White as the last surviving “Golden Girl” for over a decade before she died on New Year’s Eve of natural causes.

While it’s sad to hear that the cast members of “The Golden Girls” didn’t always get along, it doesn’t change the fact that the show will continue to bring joy to millions of fans for many years to come.
