The tenth season of the American medical procedural drama Chicago Med premiered on NBC on September 25, 2024. Created by Dick Wolf in 2015, the series follows the lives of doctors, nurses, and staff at the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
Dr. Natalie Manning, portrayed by Torrey DeVitto, was one of the central characters in Chicago Med from seasons 1 to 6. She was a pediatrician and an emergency medicine specialist who often dealt with children and family-related cases.
Her character arc ended in season 6, as she was fired by Sharon Goodwin for stealing an experimental drug to help with her mother’s medical condition. She made a guest appearance in season 8, where the fans saw her ending up with Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) following his resignation and decision to move to Seattle.
The series is the third project in the One Chicago franchise after Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. The major storylines of the show revolve around medical ethics, doctor-patient relationships, and the personal lives of the hospital crew.
Who was Natalie’s partner on Chicago Med?
Dr. Natalie Manning’s romantic life on Chicago Med has been central to her storyline. In season 2, Jeff Clarke (Jeff Hephner) was Natalie’s first major relationship. Their alliance was short-lived, and Natalie ultimately ended things with Jeff.
Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) was Natalie’s most significant love interest in Chicago Med.From season 1, they had an interesting dynamic and kept fans wondering about their ‘will-they-won’t-they’ romantic situation.
Throughout seasons 2 to 3, their relationship faced ups and downs, mostly because of their different medical approaches, moral principles, and personal insecurities. Finally, in season 4 episode 1, titled Be My Better Half, their engagement was confirmed.
This was still not their happily ever after, as Will was kidnapped and held hostage at gunpoint on their wedding day in episode 9. He was then placed in witness protection and struggled to get back to daily life. Natalie finally broke off the engagement when she couldn’t handle Will’s changed behavior.
Through seasons 5 and 6, Natalie dated Phillip Davis (Ian Harding) and later, Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains). Her relationship with Phillip was manipulative, as he slipped a ring on Natalie’s finger after her memory loss, making her believe that they were already engaged. Natalie eventually got to know the truth and ended the relationship.
She dated Marcel in season 6, and the relationship ended when Natalie was fired for stealing experimental medicine for her mother. At the beginning of season 7, she moved to Seattle with her son, Owen.
Natalie and Will’s relationship finally got closure when the latter resigned in season 8 and moved to Seattle to be with Natalie and Owen. They had been pen pals since Natalie’s departure from the show and the flame was reignited when they met.
