A First Look at Bridgerton’s New Love Story: Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha on Season 4

It’s not every day we’re invited into the world of Regency-era romance, but when the opportunity knocks, we don’t hesitate! Recently, we traded our regular commute for a ride to the London studio where Bridgerton Season 4 is well underway. After a show-stopping Season 3 (now available to binge on Netflix!), production is in full swing, with Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha stepping up as the leads for the upcoming season. Thompson returns as the charming Benedict Bridgerton, while Ha takes on the role of Sophie Baek, his elusive love interest, promising fans a romance worth swooning over.

Yerin Ha’s character, Sophie, will bring new intrigue to the series, stepping into the story drawn from An Offer From a Gentleman, the third book in Julia Quinn’s beloved Bridgerton series. Sophie serves as a maid under Lady Araminta Gun, a demanding employer with high expectations. In a daring move, Sophie disguises herself to attend a masquerade ball, where she crosses paths with Benedict, changing both of their lives forever. Though we’re sworn to secrecy about what happens next, we’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into the dynamic between Ha and Thompson as they step into their roles.

Without further ado, here’s an exclusive Q&A with Bridgerton’s newest leading pair, along with some stunning photos captured on the fresh new set for Season 4.

VALENTINA VALENTINI: What can we expect from Benedict and Sophie this season?

LUKE THOMPSON: The main thing to expect is a blend of fairy-tale magic and real-world challenges. We have this love story that feels like a dream, but, as with all things Bridgerton, it’s also grounded in a relatable struggle. We’ll see how that plays out!

YERIN HA: There’s a powerful push and pull between what their hearts want and what society demands. You can expect an emotional journey as they grapple with these conflicting desires.

LT: Oh, that’s such a better way to put it than I did! [Both laugh.]

VV: What words would you use to describe their character arcs this season?

YH: The obvious word is “roller coaster,” but I’ll go with “prismatic” for Sophie – before she meets Benedict and after. She’s like a prism: when light hits, it reveals so many colors and dimensions.

LT: Prismatic? That’s a beautiful metaphor – and I think I’ll leave it there. Perfectly said.

Prepare for romance, chemistry, and a touch of fairy-tale magic as Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha breathe new life into Bridgerton Season 4!
