Two ‘This Is Us’ Stars Reunite in New ‘Tracker’ Image
Days after it was announced that This Is Us alums Justin Hartley and Jennifer Morrison would reunite for the Season 1 finale of CBS‘ Tracker, TVLine has shared an exclusive image showing both Hartley and Morrison as they once again share a screen together. After the hit NBC drama concluded in 2022, Hartley went on to venture on a new project with Tracker, in which he serves as both the lead star and one of the executive producers.
Morrison’s involvement in Tracker came after the exciting addition of Jensen Ackles, who is set to star as Colter Shaw’s (played by Hartley) estranged older brother named Russell. Melissa Roxburgh, on the other hand, will play their younger sister, Dory. In a previous interview with Collider’s Christina Radish, Hartley revealed that Morrison will appear in a “key role,” portraying “an old family friend” from Colter’s childhood. Both stars appeared as Kevin Pearson and Cassidy Sharp in the acclaimed NBC family drama created by Dan Fogelman.
“I haven’t worked with [Morrison] since This Is Us, and she comes on as an old family friend of Colter’s, from way back when they were kids. And so, that whole family dynamic leaks out a little bit through her experience with him in the finale. So, there’s that. I probably wasn’t supposed to tell you that, but it’s all good,” Hartley told Collider.
‘Tracker’ Season Finale Sets ‘This Is Us’ and ‘Smallville’ Reunion
Though both Hartley and Ackles starred in Smallville as Oliver Queen and Jason Teague, respectively, the upcoming episode of Tracker marked the first time the actors have worked on a project together. Meanwhile, Hartley and Morrison’s characters had a special connection, making their Tracker reunion a significant treat for This Is Us fans. Ackles’ Tracker debut will premiere on May 12, while Morisson will be joining Hartley’s Colter Shaw on the May 19 episode.
’Tracker’ Scores an Early Season 2 Renewal
Based on Jeffery Deaver’s bestselling crime novel The Never Game, Tracker follows lone-survivalist and “reward seeker” Colter Shaw, whose exceptional tracking skills are utilized to help law enforcement and private individuals solve crimes and mysteries. After premiering with an impressive viewership record, the series has been renewed by CBS for a second season, making it the first series to receive a renewal from the network for 2024.
In addition to Hartley, the drama series also stars Fiona Rene as Reenie, Robin Weigert as Teddi Bruin, Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin, Eric Graise as Bob, and Mary McDonnell as Mary Dove Shaw. You can catch new episodes of Tracker on Sundays on CBS. The procedural series is also available to stream on Paramount+.
