There will also be numerous Easter eggs and callbacks to NCIS’ rich history, which longtime fans will certainly appreciate. “We’re going to play plenty of homage to the past,” said North, while Sean Murray, who has been with the show since its premiere in 2003, promised numerous references to earlier episodes. “There’s a lot of Easter eggs hidden throughout the episode,” Murray told TV Insider, adding that fans will notice callbacks to famous episodes and moments that have shaped the NCIS universe.
Fans tuning in for the first time won’t be left out either, as the 1,000th episode is designed to be enjoyable for both newcomers and longtime viewers alike.
