‘Family Matters’ co-stars reunite for holiday Lifetime TV movie

That “Family Matters” mini-reunion you didn’t realize you needed until this very moment arrives this Saturday.
Reginald VelJohnson, who played husband Carl Winslow, and Jo Marie Payton, who played wife Hariette Winslow for all but one year of the hit series’ run, are teaming up again for a holiday Lifetime TV movie, “The Flight Before Christmas,” premiering Saturday at 8 p.m.

It’s unclear if a plot point revolves around the fact that neither actor appears to have aged since “Family Matters” wrapped in 1998.
“Family Matters” ran for nine seasons, most of which anchored ABC’s “TGiF” Friday-night lineup before a final season bowed on CBS.

Now, VelJohnson and Payton are on board for Lifetime’s “Flight,” which also stars Mayim Bialik (who plays Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on”The Big Bang Theory”) and Ryan McPartlin (the perfectly named Captain Awesome from NBC’s “Chuck”). According to Lifetime’s website, Bialik and McPartlin’s characters are stranded in the same room at a bed-and-breakfast after a snowstorm changes their flight plans.
There’s no word if Jaleel White, aka Steve Urkel/Stefan Urquelle, will “do that” TV movie as well. Perhaps his character will show up on camera if crew members “have any cheese.”
