‘Chicago Fire’ Season 13 Release Schedule

Six episodes remain in Chicago Fire‘s 13th Season, rounding out a 15-part arc airing on NBC between September 2024 and February 2025. Of course, with the NFL’s 59th Superbowl slated for February 9, 2025, some releases could shift to accommodate the big game. As such, it’s worth keeping track of when, how, and where to catch the final six chapters of the long-running medical procedural.

When Chicago Fire returns for Season 13, Episode 10, “Chaos Theory,” much of the drama will focus on a community center emergency that requires a response from the Chicago Fire Department team. Elsewhere, Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) may expose a corrupt team member, an internal department struggle that will surely set up the drama in the remaining five episodes. Without further ado, Chicago Fire’s Season 13 release schedule lies ahead.

Whether watching live on NBC or streaming on Peacock, Chicago Fire will air six more episodes in Season 13 between January 22 and February 26, 2025. Fortunately, since NBC releases weekly episodes each Wednesday, Superbowl Sunday shouldn’t affect the remaining schedule for Chicago Fire Season 13.

Episode Title Release Date
Episode 10 Chaos Theory Jan. 22, 2025
Episode 11 In the Trenches: Part 1 Jan. 29, 2025
Episode 12 In the Trenches: Part 2 Feb. 5, 2025
Episode 13 TBA Feb. 12, 2025
Episode 14 TBA Feb. 19, 2025
Episode 15 TBA Feb. 26, 2025

While no episode titles or plot details have been provided past Season 13, Episode 10, “Chaos Theory,” NBC released an overall season synopsis sure to be resolved in the six remaining episodes of the long-running TV procedural. According to NBC:

“Firehouse 51 has been fearlessly handling whatever emergency comes their way — when that alarm blares, you can bet those firefighters are zooming. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the crew has been navigating the recent arrival of a new commanding officer: Chief Dom Pascal, played by the iconic Dermot Mulroney.

Pascal has been challenging the team, leading cherished fan favorites to face the heat for the first time in years. As Pascal marinates on what it means to join the 51 family, Chi-Hards have enjoyed gripping Season 13 storylines, a delightful combo of steamy romance and chilling rescue missions.”

Following “Chaos Theory,” January 29, 2025, will bring Season 13, Episode 11, “In The Trenches: Part 1,” which will set up at least a two-part emergency response episode. Episode 12, presumably “In The Trenches: Part 2,” will air on February 5, 2025. After that, three more episodes will remain in Season 13, with the season finale (episode 15) slated to air on NBC on February 26, 2025.

‘Chicago Fire’s Premise

Wallace stands in his office in Chicago Fire
NBC

Michael Brandt and Derek Haas created Chicago Fire for NBC, the first TV series in the crossover Chicago franchise that includes Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. Launched in 2012, Chicago Fire concerns the personal and professional lives of several firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, rescue experts, and other coordinated medical response professionals. Under Lieutenant Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), the popular medical drama follows the windy city’s Firehouse 51, with specialized duties delegated to Engine 51, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, and Rescue Squad 3.

Beyond Casey, the main characters include Rescue Squad Lt. Kelly Severide, firefighters Chris Herrmann (David Eigenberg), Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), Randall McHolland (Christian Stolte), and Harold Capp (Randy Flagler), Batallion 25 Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), and various other emergency response professionals. While telling a standalone drama, Chicago Fire is notable for its epic three-hour crossover events that tie into the narrative strands in Chicago Med and Chicago P.D.

With 267 episodes and counting, Chicago Fire is expected to continue past Season 13, although NBC has yet to renew it. As fans await the show’s fate, a closer look at Season 13’s release is in order.

Where ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 13 Last Left Off

When Chicago Fire‘s 13th season commenced on September 25, 2024, fans were introduced to new Fire Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), who replaced Wallace after years in control. As Pascal adjusts to his new employees and vice versa, several new emergencies and rescue efforts ensue. Following the Season 13 premiere in September, NBC aired a new episode until November 20, 2024. Once Season 13, Episode 8, “Quickstand,” aired, Chicago Fire went on a mid-season hiatus.

The show’s mid-season hiatus lasted from November 20, 2024, to January 8, 2025, leaving fans waiting for nearly two months. However, instead of releasing weekly episodes, Season 13, Episode 10, “Chaos Theory” came two weeks after Episode 9, on January 22, 2025.

Elsewhere, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) will tend to a car crash victim requiring an emergency rescue.
