BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Actor Kadeem Hardison made his debut today at the annual “On the Set” film at camp at Woodlawn High School.
Hardison, co-star of the sitcom “A Different World” and co-star in the movie “Biker Boyz,” is teaching a group of students ages 8-18 on-camera and behind the scenes acting techniques. He will continue working with the youths on Friday.
David Tucker, camp founder, began “On the Set” four years ago to provide an opportunity and a different outlet for youths other than basketball and typical summer activities.
“I wanted to give kids a different choice,” Tucker said. “Some kids might not be good at basketball or football and they might have another talent that’s untapped.”
A group of over 20 children, most of whom aspire to be actors, quizzed Hardison on the ins and outs of the entertainment with hopes of someday seeing Hollywood.
“Everybody has their (acting) method, but I just try to listen,” Hardison said. “It’s a good practice for life.”
