‘A DIFFERENT WORLD’ CAST REUNITES FOR SHOW’S 35TH ANNIVERSARY: ‘THE BAND GOT BACK TOGETHER’

35 years after the premiere of the classic sitcom A Different World, the cast taking social media by storm after reuniting.

On Oct. 1, former A Different World cast member and animation legend Cree Summer took to Instagram and posted a photo of her and her fellow cast members Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis, Cree Summer, Charnele Brown and Darryl M. Bell.
“The Band Got Back Together,” she said in her caption. “35 Years Going Strong.”

The photo was posted days after the cast reunited for a discussion panel at Wilmington Public Library in Wilmington, Delaware, to commemorate the anniversary.
Summer’s Instagram post received replies from fellow actresses Vanessa Williams and Rachel True.
However, a common denominator in the replies was how youthful Dawnn Lewis, who portrayed Jaleesa Vinson–Taylor, looked.

“Jaleesa didn’t age at all,” one reply said.
A spinoff of The Cosby Show, A Different World premiered on Sept. 24, 1987 and chronicled the lives of college students who attendd a historically Black college.
