A Former CW Fan Favorite Is Joining Chicago Fire Season 14 — But Who Is She Playing? md18

Chicago Fire fans can expect to see the star of a hit CW series make their way to the Windy City when season 14 continues in 2026.

It seems the One Chicago franchise is about to add yet another former CW star to the mix when the new year arrives!

Roswell, New Mexico star Jeanine Mason has joined the cast of Chicago Fire in an undisclosed role. Mason’s casting was confirmed via Instagram courtesy of an Instagram Stories post from Miranda Rae Mayo. The photo failed to offer up much context as to who Mason might be playing in the episode, but did manage to give us a first look at her character.

In the photo, we see Mason appearing alongside Mayo and fellow Chicago Fire star David Eigenberg, as well as director Anthony Nardolillo, who will be making his Chicago Fire directorial debut with the episode. Although Mason’s character is wearing a winter coat in the photo that covers her wardrobe, it appears as though she’s wearing a navy shirt and navy pants which hints that she might be playing a member of the Chicago Fire Department.

We know there has been a lot of change going on within the CFD this season amid the budget cuts that have impacted the city of Chicago, so perhaps Mason will play a member of the CFD who comes through 51 for a shift or two. There’s also a chance she could end up being a civilian attached to one of the calls the 51 team responds to during the episode.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about her character when NBC begins dropping new promotional materials for the new episodes in the form of episode synopsis teases, new photos, and promos.

Regardless of who she’s playing and whether this will be a guest spot or something bigger, we’re excited to see Mason drop into the Windy City with an appearance on Chicago Fire. And she won’t be the only new face we’ll meet in the new year.

One Chicago Center previously reported the addition of Max Martini as a new Deputy District Chief within the CFD. Details on Martini’s character are scarce, but like Mason, we’ll be meeting his character sometime in the new year when Chicago Fire season 14 resumes.

With new episodes inching closer and closer with each passing day, Chicago Fire fans should expect new details to continue emerging about the current season. These updates have been amazing in helping to get us through the extended fall break and hold us over until Chicago Fire returns on January 7, 2026!

Don’t miss the Chicago Fire season 14 winter premiere on Wednesday, January 7 at 9/8c on NBC.
