Being a mother is the most incredible—and at times, the most challenging—journey I have ever embarked on. When my daughter Lauren was born back in 1998, my life changed forever. I was playing Cassie Layne on Guiding Light then, and stepping into motherhood brought a new depth of love and purpose that I hadn’t imagined possible.
Motherhood is filled with moments that test your strength and patience. There are days when the exhaustion feels endless, and the worries about your child’s future weigh heavily on your heart. But there are also countless moments of pure joy, laughter, and pride—watching Lauren grow into the remarkable young woman she is today has been nothing short of a blessing.
I often think back on the early days, the sleepless nights and the endless cuddles, and I’m reminded that those small moments are the building blocks of a lifetime of love. Sharing this journey with Lauren has taught me more about myself than any role I’ve played on screen. It’s made me more compassionate, more resilient, and infinitely more grateful.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a mother is seeing Lauren carve out her own path with confidence and grace. Whether it’s sharing a silly mother-daughter workout or just enjoying quiet moments together, these experiences remind me of the power of family, connection, and support.
To all the parents and parents-to-be out there, especially my wonderful General Hospital family and fans, I want to say: embrace the chaos, the tears, and the triumphs. Your love and dedication matter more than you know. Motherhood is not always easy, but it is a journey full of hope and incredible joy.
Thank you for allowing me to share a little piece of my heart and my life with you. I hope my story brings encouragement and positivity to your day. Remember, no matter the challenges, there is so much beauty in raising a child and watching them grow.
With love and gratitude,
Laura Wright
