CBS recently announced that NCIS: LOS ANGELES will not continue.
Actress Daniela Ruah played Special Agent Kensi Byle on the show, which began in 2009, and appeared in over 300 episodes.
“I’m not sad that it’s ending. I think the show has had an amazing, long run, we’ve told phenomenal stories, the characters have grown and matured on the show in front of everyone,” Ruah told ET. “It’s bittersweet.”
“Like, it’s time to move on creatively, but it’s going to be so hard not to be with this family of people, because they are incredible,” she continued.
Ruah said that she is thankful for the amount of fans that supported the show over the last 14 years.
“When you think about the amount of people that approach you and say, ‘This show saved my life. This show is what I used to watch with my parent or my grandparent, before they passed away, and I still watch it because it reminds me of them,’” she said. “It makes it mean the world to you.”
“I’m so grateful to have been a part of that show,” she added.
Since NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Ruah is also the host of the annual special, SUPER BOWL GREATEST COMMERCIALS: BATTLE OF THE DECADES. Ruah co-hosts alongside NFL commentator Boomer Esiason.
“I think it’s super fun. I love being a part of it,” she said of the special. “And I think every year that passed we find new things to unravel, new jokes, new jabs at each other.”
“You’re so good at that,” Esiason added. “I can tell why she’s so liked on her [NCIS:LA] set.”

CBS has announced that NCIS: LOS ANGELES will come to an end with Season 14.
“For 14 seasons, NCIS: LOS ANGELES has been a stalwart of our lineup with characters who were a joy to watch,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement about the show. “It’s no surprise this show succeeded as a global franchise. From day one, the cast, producers and crew were amazing Network/Studios partners, and their teamwork, talent and spirit vividly came through on the screen.”
The statement continued, “We are so grateful for the collaboration and remarkable run of these treasured members of our CBS family, and plan to give them the big sendoff they and their fans deserve.”
Showrunner and executive producer R. Scott Gemmill released a statement as well, writing, “I want to thank both the Network and Studios for their partnership and support over the years.”
“Our crew has grown to be a true family, and their hard work and dedication has been fundamental to our success year after year,” the statement continued. “My deepest gratitude to the cast members, who have brought our characters to life with their impassioned performances – thank you for your talent, professionalism and continuous enthusiasm. And to our loyal viewers who loved our characters and followed their journeys, thank you. We look forward to delivering an end to the series that is both satisfying and does justice to these beloved characters.”
