While Kevin Costner‘s new chapter following his exit from Yellowstone has been anything but smooth sailing, one of his projects just got some great news. The Gray House, the civil war Western TV series he executive produced alongside fellow Hollywood icon Morgan Freeman, has a place to land. According to Deadline, the series has been snagged by Prime Video, and will be premiering on the platform in early 2026.

The Gray House, directed by Roland Joffé, is a true-story-based historical drama about a group of unsung heroes who created a spy network within the Confederate circles during the Civil War. Each day, these women, including a Virginia socialite, her mother, and a formerly enslaved sister-in-arms, would risk their lives and liberties to transform an underground railroad into an effective underground spy network.
The women, who General Ulysses S. Grant later credited as helping the North win the Civil War, are played by Mary-Louise Parker (The West Wing), Daisy Head (Harlots), and Amethyst Davis (Kindred). In addition to the all-female lead trio, the series also stars Ben Vereen, Paul Anderson, Ian Duff, Hannah James, Robert Knepper, Christopher McDonald, Colin Morgan, Rob Morrow, Colin O’Donoghue, Sam Trammell, Ewan Miller and Keith David.
What Has Kevin Costner Done Since Leaving ‘Yellowstone’?

Since Kevin Costner’s abrupt departure from Yellowstone due to reported scheduling conflicts in the middle of Season 5, Costner has been keeping busy. Most famously, Costner dove right into his four-part Western movie franchise, Horizon, which he directed, co-wrote and starred in. The first installment, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, was released on June 28, 2024, but had an underwhelming performance at the box office. As a result, the second installment, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2, has yet to be released in theaters and is on an indefinite hiatus. In addition to Horizon, which is reportedly looking for financing for Chapter 3, Costner will reportedly be starring in Honeymoon with Harry alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, the thriller Headhunters, directed by Steven Holleran, and has already starred in History Channel’s TV series Kevin Costner’s the West.
All in all, while Costner has certainly had a busy agenda since leaving Yellowstone, the news that The Gray House has been selected by Prime Video is certainly reassuring. Plus, with the Western theme still at the center, Costner is continuing to do what he does best. Viewers will be able to catch his must-watch new show in just a few months.
