America’s Got Talent is NBC’s long-running talent competition in the U.S. created by Simon Cowell. Every year, participants across the U.S. and around the world audition and perform a wide range of talents, from singing and dancing to magic and stunts. Contestants want to secure a coveted spot in the live episodes, where they can captivate audiences and impress judges while the public watches and votes.
Each year, AGT crowns a new champion who wins a cash prize of $1 million (paid out as a 40-year-long annuity) and the opportunity to headline a show on the Las Vegas strip. With 18 winners already, the stage is set for another act to claim the title in Season 19 this fall. But before that, fans are in for a treat with the auditions and live shows set to air over the next three months.
On May 8, NBC released the Season 19 trailer teasing the upcoming season. The sneak peek revealed that viewers will see the youngest Act ever audition for a spot on the live shows. The video also shows Sofía Vergara covering her eyes from an act she called “horrific.” Learn all the details about America’s Got Talent Season 19 below.
