This week “America’s Got Talent” season 19 advanced to the second stage of the competition.” In this round, 44 acts are divided into four groups for four weeks of performances, all in the hopes of advancing to The Finals. Series judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel are on hand to offer their support and critique of the acts.
Quarterfinal 1 which aired live on NBC on August 13, featured encore performances by Heidi’s first Golden Buzzer, singer Richard Goodall, contortionist Arshiya, band Ashes & Arrows, dance groups Attraction Juniors, Hypers Kids Africa and Los Osos High School, rap duo Flewnt & Inkabee, acrobats Hakuna Matata Acrobatic, singer Liv Warfield, baton twirler Phillip Lewis and dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm.
Sofia singled out acrobats Hakuna Matata Acrobatic for her Golden Buzzer, which ensured them a spot in The Finals. Three of the other 10 acts will make the cut when America’s vote count is revealed and advance to the Semi-Final. 8:12 p.m. – After the recap of last night’s performances, Terry brought Ashes & Arrows and Arshiya forward to announce that Ashes & Arrows was voted in the top five while Arshiya was eliminated. Howie congratulated the country group for making it on the country charts with the song they performed last night.
8:19 p.m. – In the next set of results, Terry brought forward Flewnt & Inkabee and Attraction Juniors to announce that Attraction Juniors was the second act to place in the top five, eliminating Flewnt & Inkabee from the competition.
8:21 p.m. – The third act to remain in the competition within the top five was dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm while baton twirler Phillip Lewis was eliminated.
8:23 p.m. – Between Liv Warfield and Hypers Kids Africa, the fourth act to place in the top five was Hypers Kids Africa, meaning Liv and her band were eliminated. Simon expressed his disappointment that Liv didn’t advance, but said that he “genuinely believes great things” will happen in her career.
8:32 p.m. – The last act to place in the top five and remain in the competition for a bit longer was Richard Goodall, meaning Los Osos High School dance team was eliminated.
8:38 p.m. – As “one of the most popular” champions ever, the judges were thrilled to invite last year’s winners Adrian Stoica & Hurricane back to the stage tonight for a brand new pink carpet themed doc act comedic performance.
8:48 p.m. – Terry brought the top five acts back on stage to reveal which two of them would advance to the Semi-Final. The first act to advance is singer Richard Goodall, a Golden Buzzer act chosen by Heidi during the audition round. The second act to advance to the Semi-Final is Ashes & Arrows, an announcement that left the judges with shocked faces at the dais.
8:51 p.m. – Of the three remaining acts in the top five, Terry announced that Attraction Juniors was eliminated.
8:57 p.m. – With two acts still on stage to hear their result, Terry announced that Hypers Kids Africa were eliminated and so Roni Sagi & Rhythm were the third act to advance to the Semi-Final.
