While we’re still head over heels about Polin—and the third season of Bridgerton in general—you might be wondering if season 2’s leads Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley are returning for more in season 4. Although they had significantly less screen time this season because of other projects (The Little Mermaid! Wicked! Dearest gentle reader, we’re thrilled to report that we’ll likely see more of the pair—at least, according to showrunner Jess Brownell. When asked if Kanthony’s trip to India means they’re being written off the show, Jess explained to Teen Vogue, “I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them.” She continued, “We love Jonny and Simone and we’ll have them back as much as we are able to.”
“They give so much, even with just tiny little looks and gestures. They’re a magic pairing, absolutely,” Jess told Teen Vogue‘s editor-in-chief, Versha Sharma, of Jonathan and Simone’s undeniable chemistry.
What have Simone and Jonathan said about Bridgerton season 4?
Per People, Simone dished that she’d be down to “hopefully” come back for another season. During a press meeting at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco on June 15, Simone said, “Both Johnny and I, we adore our characters, Kate and Anthony, so much and their relationship and what they mean for the show. I think we’ll do all we can with our schedules to make it work so that we can, hopefully.”
