Blue Bloods star Marisa Ramirez has addressed Maria Baez’s future in Boston Blue following her surprise return, hinting at what’s next for her and Danny Reagan. Ramirez reprised her role as Baez for a guest appearance in Boston Blue, coming back as Danny starts his new job with the Boston Police Department. It also confirmed the pair are still together.
However, speaking with Us Weekly, Ramirez hinted that it’s not going to be sunshine and rainbows forever between Baez and Danny. You should always worry about long distance. You never know what’s gonna happen. Always worry. I would hope she’s gonna be in more than just one scene out of this whole season, right? I just think that you’re honestly just gonna have to watch. But still be worried about the long distance thing working out or not working out.
Blue Bloods ended a major chapter for the Reagan family. The series’ conclusion brought the family together one last time, while somewhat preparing for the next chapter. However, one constant throughout the series has been the friendship between Danny and Baez, ever since she arrived in season 4. The original series ended with Danny asking her on a pizza date.
While the exact amount of time between both shows is unclear, Danny and Baez have crafted a serious relationship since they were last seen. Their romantic connection is deep enough that, even though he’s now working in Boston while she’s still in New York, they haven’t given up on what they have. But Ramirez’s statement hints this may not last.
It’s unclear if Baez is going to return to Boston Blue in the future.
