Beyond the Ton: 7 Bridgerton Spinoffs Netflix Needs to Greenlight Next

The future of Bridgerton remains bright as Netflix has renewed the series for Seasons 5 and 6, with Season 4 slated for 2026. But that also leaves us wondering: Will there be more spinoffs or specials?

Along with Bridgerton Seasons 1 through 3, Shondaland also released the well-received prequel spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Could another spinoff or story be on the horizon? We certainly hope so. Whether it’s about the Bridgerton siblings, supporting characters, or prequel stories, we’re ready to dive into the Regency-era romance that accompanies this world inspired by Julia Quinn’s books.

While Netflix and Shondaland haven’t announced any additional projects beyond the main Bridgerton series, we’re still holding out hope that the universe could expand. And as fans talk about the long-awaited Edmund-Violet prequel series, we can’t help but imagine the possibilities Bridgerton could explore.

Below, we’ll break down some of the spinoffs and specials we’d love to see come to fruition in the Bridgerton universe. Scroll down for a closer look, and let us know in the comments which spinoffs you’d like to see.

Violet and Edmund’s Love Story
Bridgerton viewers are constantly reminded of the family’s wonderful father, Edmund (Rupert Evans), when he was alive, and how beautiful his love story with Violet (Ruth Gemmell) was. But aside from the man’s death scene in Season 2, we’ve never really had a chance to witness that love for ourselves. Quinn has written a story about Violet and Edmund’s love affair, which means there’s definitely source material for a series, but only time will tell. If they do a prequel, we can imagine Connie Jenkins-Greig reprising her role as a young Violet after playing her in Queen Charlotte.

A Bridgerton Family Holiday Special
Christmas with the Bridgertons has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? While each season has largely focused on the marriage fair and the social season, it would be nice to get a glimpse of the main family during the holidays. While that doesn’t necessarily mean a full season of episodes, an hour-long special would be quite fun. It would also be interesting to see which members of the Ton might join in the festivities. With the Featheringtons now part of the family, we can only imagine the hilarious scenarios that could ensue after a Christmas gathering.

Lady Danbury Prequel
Sure, we’ve seen Lady Danbury’s (Arsema Thomas) rise to fame starting with Queen Charlotte, but it would be interesting to see her journey in the years between that and the current timeline play out in Bridgerton. A prequel spinoff would give the Queen Charlotte actors a chance to reprise their roles, as well as introduce us to some new faces, for sure. Simply put, we’d love to learn more about Lady Danbury’s rise to become the greatest lady of the Ton.

Kate & Anthony in India

Sending Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) to India is a reasonable explanation for why the characters haven’t been around much in their subsequent seasons, but perhaps a stand-alone episode or special that gives fans a glimpse into the couple’s life abroad would be an interesting way to expand the universe and its borders beyond Ton. Considering Ashley and Bailey’s rising stars outside of the series, the concept could be an interesting way to keep them in the series with less of a time commitment for the actors.

The Featheringtons
The Featheringtons have been incorporated into the main plot of Bridgerton, but we’ve yet to see the lives of sisters Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Philippa (Harriet Cains), and Prudence (Bessie Carter). If the Featheringtons were to get their own limited series, it could deepen the family and open up a potential avenue to further flesh out Penelope’s relationship with her mother, Portia (Polly Walker), and her sisters.

Brimsley & Reynolds Next
We’ve already had a taste of the romance between the Queen and King’s secretaries, but between the past and present timelines, there’s still some doubt as to whether Reynolds (Freddie Dennis) is still alive after Brimsley (Hugh Sachs) is seen dancing alone during a quiet moment. In the past, Reynolds and Brimsley (Sam Clemmett) had a sweet relationship; a sequel to clarify what happened would certainly be nice. If not a full-fledged show, then
