After so many years of starring on The Rookie, it’s hard to imagine Nathan Fillion isn’t feeling grateful for his successful career. Well, he’s cluing folks into a surprise TV achievement — and he had to share his thoughts about it, too.
On February 22, the actor went on Instagram to share some statistics about the procedural drama’s ratings for its current season 7. Posting a screenshot from what appeared to be a press release from ABC, folks learned The Rookie had accomplished a brand-new all-time high rating for episode views on the streaming sites Hulu and Disney+. What’s more, the show earned a combined total 8.8 million viewers over the last three weeks, along with receiving what the network called its “best delivery” among the 18-49 age demographic since March 2020.
Given the reaction to the newest episodes of The Rookie, Nathan decided he’d express his gratitude for all the work it takes to produce a successful TV show.

I couldn’t be more proud of what this show has accomplished,” he wrote. “It honestly couldn’t happen to a more talented, kind, and deserving group of people. Cast, crew, writers, staff, and of course, [creator and showrunner] Alexi [Hawley]. My thanks goes out to all the fans, too. You keep this show going by continuing to tune in, and for that I am truly grateful.”
When fans saw Nathan divulge his feelings for how well The Rookie is doing on the air, it didn’t take long for fans to celebrate alongside him.
“The Rookie is one of the best shows to come around in ages 🙌,” one person wrote in the comments. “You and the whole cast makes the show so special. Let’s hope for season 8 ❤️❤️,” another agreed. “It’s such a wonderful show to watch every week. Thank you to all of you,” a different follower added.
While ABC is keeping the potential of another season of The Rookie under wraps, we’d venture to say there’s hope after reading this! And with more episodes airing in the near future, we’ll definitely need to see what is next for the folks at LAPD Mid-Wilshire.
